Project Name: Mariupol Church and Rescue Mission

Project Location: Mariupol, Ukraine

The Mariupol building was initially constructed by German POWs after World War II and has had a number of uses including a telephone switch station and gravestone business. Six Work & Witness teams worked on the building in 2002, and three in 2003.

Completion is planned for 2004. Mariupol is a city of 600,000 located on the Sea of Azov in southeast Ukraine, and is 12 hours by car or 18 hours by train from Kyiv. Pastor Sergei Alekseev and his wife Tatyana lead the Mariupol Church of the Nazarene.
